Ms.Johnson

johnson

Hello and welcome parents! I am Ms. Johnson, the  Lead Pre-K Teacher at Lee Street Elementary.    In 2011, I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University. I am currently in school to obtain a Masters in Early Childhood Education.   I have been teaching for 8 years and have worked with age’s birth through 4.  This is my first year teaching Pre-K which I am very excited about.  I have always had the aspiration to work with children.  I believe that children learn best through experience which they gain through play and other hands on activities.  I also believe that parent –teacher collaboration helps students succeed throughout their school career. Students learn through repetition. Monthly newsletters will be sent home to inform you all about events as well as materials discussed in class so that you can enforce it in the home.  As a teacher, my goal is to meet students where they are in order to help them move to the next level with parental support.

Greeting Lee Street Eagles, I am Ms. Riggins the assistant Pre k Teacher, who works alongside Ms. Johnson in the prekindergarten classroom to assure that all students receive the basic skills for learning according to GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards.) This is my second year here at Lee Street but I am no stranger to the education setting, I have over 10 years of experience with working with children from birth to 12 years of age. This is my 7th year with the Georgia's Lottery Pre-k Program and it is a great experience of teaching and learning with the goal of empowering young minds.” Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”- Nelson Mandela
