Parents read, talk, and listen to your child often and about a variety of subjects. Encourage your child
natural love for learning with praise. Recognize her/his curiosity and hard work. Let your child know that his or her academic success is important to you. Stay in touch with your child's teacher. Participate in parent-teacher conferences--in the fall and spring to discuss your child's progress. Talk to your child about what he or she is learning at school.

Talk positively about school. If you as a parent have a positive attitude about school, your child is more likely to also. If you value education then so will your child. We are delighted to have your child in our class and look forward to working with you to make sure your child begins school on a positive note. We greatly appreciate your support and anticipate a wonderful year!

We work really hard in Kindergarten getting your babies and now our babies to learn their abcs, sounds, sight words, handwriting skills, numbers, shapes, addition, subtraction, social skills, motor skills, conflict resolution skills, and many more things.  We ask that you help us at home by making sure to take time to talk them about their day.  Helping out with homework is a great way to gauge your child to ensure they are understanding the skills taught in the classroom.  We ask that you please read to your child nightly and ask guiding questions to the story so they can build their comprehension skills.

We believe in GREAT parent teacher relationships!!!!!!!  With an open relationship between you and us, we will always be able to succeed with all the school year has in store for us. Throughout the year we will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, weekly reports, “just because” reports, nine week progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. We urge you to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns@ (770)473-2815 orralonda.penn@clayton.k12.ga.us.  We are sooooooo excited to spend a year in your child’s life making a difference that will last a lifetime =)  Mrs. Penn and Ms. Mitchell.
